L’olio extravergine di oliva DOP “Colline Salernitane” ha radici antichissime, in quanto deriva da varietà autoctone da sempre presenti nel salernitano. Le radici di quest’olio affondano nelle tradizioni dei coloni della Magna Grecia cheper primi cominciarono a diffonderne la  coltivazione nella Piana dell’Alento e nelle aree circostanti collinari.

The “Colline Salernitane” PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) extra virgin olive oil has ancient roots, originating from native olive varieties that have always thrived in the Salerno area. The roots of this oil reach back to the traditions of the settlers of Magna Graecia, who were the first to spread its cultivation in the Alento Plain and the surrounding hilly areas.

Medium fruitiness (4.3), medium bitterness (3.7), and a light hint of spiciness (3.3).
High polyphenol content (754 mg/kg as Tyrosol). The “Colline Salernitane” PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) extra virgin olive oil has ancient roots, originating from native olive varieties that have always thrived in the Salerno area. The roots of this oil reach back to the traditions of the settlers of Magna Graecia, who were the first to spread its cultivation in the Alento Plain and the surrounding hilly areas.

This oil is very clean and enveloping on the nose, with fruity notes and balsamic hints. Prominent aromas of green tomato, white apple, basil, and mint stand out, followed by notes of chicory and almond on the finish. It is characterized by a balanced taste profile, with medium fruitiness paired with medium bitterness and spiciness.

Best used raw, it pairs well with dishes of a certain gustatory intensity, such as legume soups, spelt salads, roasted rabbit or grilled poultry, salmon, gratinated shellfish, and goat cheeses.
